Privacy policy

Every cover maker on this site runs entirely inside your browser. When you add a photo to a tile, the browser opens the file locally and draws it onto a canvas element in the page. The image is never uploaded, never transmitted to us or anyone else, and never stored on a server. There is no server side image processing here at all, because there is no image on any server.

The same is true of the download. When you press the download button, the finished cover is built by your own browser from the canvas and saved straight to your device. Nothing about it reaches us. We never see your cover, we could not show it to anyone, and we cannot recover it for you if you lose it.

Nothing you load into the editor is kept between visits. Close the tab or reload the page and every photo you added is gone from the page along with it.

This site is free and is paid for by advertising. To make that work we use Google AdSense, which means Google and other advertising companies are involved in what is shown to you.

Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or to other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. These are known as personalised ads.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices.

Third party vendors set and read their own cookies here, and their use of that data is governed by their own privacy policies, not by this one. Google explains its side in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you may be shown a consent message before personalised advertising cookies are set, and you can change or withdraw that choice from the same message at any time.

Opting out of personalised ads does not remove ads from the site. It means the ads you see are chosen without using that profile.

Beyond the two opt out links above, every browser lets you block or delete cookies for a specific site or for all sites, and clearing site data for gtacovermaker.com removes both the advertising cookies and your saved theme preference.

Ad blockers and tracking protection are fine by us. The cover makers work exactly the same with one running, since the editor never talks to a server anyway.

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete on request. Requests about advertising data held by Google should go to Google, using the links above.

The Ko-fi support button in the footer sends you to Ko-fi, a separate company. If you choose to support the project there, anything you enter (including any payment details) is handled by Ko-fi and its payment processor under Ko-fi's own privacy policy. We never see your card details, and we do not receive a customer list. You can read their terms on the Ko-fi page for this project.

The same applies to any other outside site we link to, in the blog or anywhere else. Once you leave gtacovermaker.com, that site's privacy policy applies, not ours.

GTA Cover Maker is an unofficial, fan made project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive in any way. Grand Theft Auto, GTA and all related names, logos and marks are the trademarks of their respective owners, and they are referenced here only to describe which cover layout each tool recreates.

The covers you make are your own. Please use only images you own or otherwise have the right to use, and keep in mind that the resulting artwork is a fan creation, not an official Rockstar product.

If this policy changes, the updated version is posted on this page and the date at the top is changed with it. There is no mailing list to notify, so please check back here if it matters to you.
